Official NexusCAD Civilian Portal Guide
Maintained by the Internal Development Team
π Overview
The NexusCAD Civilian Portal allows Smokey State Roleplay members to create and manage the records connected to their roleplay characters.
The Civilian Portal is where you can manage:
- π€ Characters
- π Vehicles
- π Properties
- πͺͺ Licenses
- π« Weapon information, when applicable
- βοΈ Civilian emergency services interactions
Information created in the Civilian Portal can become part of your character's in-character record and may be visible to authorized Law Enforcement, Communications, Fire/EMS, or other personnel.
π Accessing the Civilian Portal
Visit the official Smokey State Roleplay NexusCAD:
π¨ NexusCAD
https://nexuscad.smokeystaterp.net/
Sign in to your NexusCAD account and navigate to the Civilian area.
Unlike department-specific MDT access, normal civilian features are designed around your roleplay characters and their associated records.
π€ Characters
Characters are the foundation of the NexusCAD Civilian system.
Your vehicles, properties, licenses, and other civilian records should be associated with the correct character.
β Creating a Character
From the Civilian Portal:
- Open Characters.
- Select the option to Create or Add a Character.
- Complete the required character information.
- Review the information for accuracy.
- Submit or save the character.
- Your new character should now appear in your character list.
Depending on the current NexusCAD configuration, you may be asked for information such as:
- First Name
- Middle Name
- Last Name
- Date of Birth
- Gender/Sex
- Address
- Phone Number
- Physical information
- Additional character information
π Character Names
Your character should use a realistic roleplay name.
Good Examples
- John Parker
- Michael Thompson
- Sarah Williams
- David Martinez
Avoid intentionally unrealistic, inappropriate, celebrity, or joke names that would violate SSRP roleplay standards.
π Date of Birth
Enter a valid in-character date of birth.
Your character's date of birth should make sense for the age you intend to portray.
For example, if your character is supposed to be 30 years old, their date of birth should reflect that.
π Character Address
Enter the address where your character currently resides.
This may later connect with property records created through the Civilian Portal.
Try to keep your character's address consistent throughout your roleplay.
βοΈ Editing a Character
If your character information changes:
- Open Characters.
- Select the appropriate character.
- Locate the edit option.
- Update the necessary information.
- Save your changes.
Do not constantly modify character information to avoid legitimate Law Enforcement records or consequences.
π Vehicles
The Vehicles section allows civilians to register vehicles to their characters.
Vehicles registered through NexusCAD may be searchable by authorized Law Enforcement personnel.
β Registering a Vehicle
To add a vehicle:
- Open the Civilian Portal.
- Select your character.
- Navigate to Vehicles.
- Select Add Vehicle or the available vehicle creation option.
- Enter the requested vehicle information.
- Verify the information.
- Save the vehicle.
π Vehicle Information
Depending on the current NexusCAD configuration, vehicle registration may include:
- License Plate
- Make
- Model
- Year
- Color
- Vehicle Type
- Registration Status
- Insurance information
- Owner
- Additional vehicle details
Make sure the vehicle is assigned to the correct character.
π’ License Plates
Your NexusCAD license plate should match the plate being represented on your in-game vehicle whenever possible.
Example
If your in-game vehicle is displaying:
ABC123
Your NexusCAD vehicle registration should also use:
ABC123
This allows Law Enforcement officers to properly conduct plate searches during traffic stops and investigations.
π¨ Vehicle Information
Make and model information should reasonably represent the vehicle being used in-game.
For example:
Make: Ford
Model: Explorer
Color: Black
Information does not have to compensate for every limitation of GTA/FiveM, but it should reasonably describe the vehicle being portrayed.
π Updating a Vehicle
If legitimate information about the vehicle changes:
- Open your character.
- Navigate to Vehicles.
- Select the vehicle.
- Choose the edit option.
- Make the appropriate changes.
- Save the record.
ποΈ Removing a Vehicle
A vehicle may be removed when your character:
- Sells the vehicle
- Transfers ownership
- Permanently gets rid of the vehicle
- No longer owns it as part of their roleplay
Do not remove vehicles simply because they have become associated with an active investigation.
π Properties
The Properties section allows civilians to create and maintain property records associated with their characters.
Properties can help create more detailed and consistent civilian roleplay.
β Creating a Property
To create a property:
- Open the Civilian Portal.
- Select your character.
- Navigate to Properties.
- Select Add Property or the available creation option.
- Enter the requested information.
- Verify the property information.
- Save the property.
π‘ Property Information
Depending on NexusCAD's current configuration, you may be asked for:
- Property Address
- Property Type
- Owner
- Resident information
- Additional property details
π’ Property Types
Properties can represent different locations used during roleplay, including:
- Houses
- Apartments
- Condominiums
- Businesses
- Garages
- Warehouses
- Commercial properties
- Other approved locations
π Property Addresses
Use an address that reasonably corresponds with the location being portrayed in-game.
Your primary residence should generally match the address listed on your character information when applicable.
Example
Character Address:
1234 Joshua Road
Property:
1234 Joshua Road
Property Type:
Residential House
This keeps your NexusCAD records consistent.
π₯ Property Ownership
Only register properties your character legitimately owns or controls through roleplay.
Do not register:
- Government buildings
- Police stations
- Fire stations
- Hospitals
- Another player's property without permission
- Locations your character does not actually own or control
π Updating Property Records
Update your property information when your character:
- Moves
- Purchases a property
- Sells a property
- Transfers ownership
- Changes their primary residence
Keeping property information updated improves Law Enforcement, Fire/EMS, and civilian roleplay.
πͺͺ Licenses
NexusCAD can maintain license information associated with civilian characters.
Licenses help determine what your character is legally authorized to do within the roleplay environment.
π Driver's License
A driver's license may be associated with your character and used during Law Enforcement interactions.
License information may include:
- License status
- License class
- Issue information
- Expiration information
- Restrictions
- Suspensions
Possible statuses may include:
- Valid
- Suspended
- Revoked
- Expired
π« Firearm / Weapon Licenses
When enabled within the SSRP NexusCAD configuration, characters may have firearm or weapon-related licenses.
These records may be visible to authorized Law Enforcement personnel.
Depending on the system, this could include:
- Weapon License
- Concealed Carry License
- Firearm Permit
- Other weapon-related authorization
Possessing a weapon in-game does not automatically mean your character has the appropriate license.
Follow applicable SSRP laws, penal codes, and roleplay policies.
π Other Licenses
Additional licenses or permits may be available depending on the current SSRP configuration.
Examples could include:
- Commercial Driver's License
- Motorcycle endorsement
- Hunting/Fishing licenses
- Business licenses
- Specialized permits
The exact licenses available are determined by the current NexusCAD and SSRP configuration.
π Law Enforcement Searches
One of the most important purposes of civilian records is providing Law Enforcement with information during roleplay.
An officer may search using information such as:
- Character Name
- License Plate
- Vehicle
- Property
- License information
The results may provide authorized personnel with relevant records associated with your character.
π Example Civilian Setup
Below is an example of how a properly configured civilian character might look.
π€ Character
Name: John Parker
Date of Birth: 04/15/1994
Address: 1234 Joshua Road
Occupation: Mechanic
π Vehicle
Make: Ford
Model: Explorer
Color: Black
Plate: JPK123
π Property
Address: 1234 Joshua Road
Type: Residential House
Owner: John Parker
πͺͺ Licenses
Driver's License: Valid
Weapon License: Valid, if applicable
This creates a consistent set of civilian records that can be used throughout your character's roleplay.
β οΈ Civilian Portal Rules
All members using the Civilian Portal are expected to follow SSRP rules.
1. Keep Information Realistic
Civilian records should reasonably represent your character.
2. No Metagaming
Do not use NexusCAD information that your character would not legitimately know.
3. Do Not Falsify Records to Avoid RP
Do not modify or delete civilian information simply to avoid:
- Arrest
- Traffic citations
- Investigations
- Warrants
- License suspensions
- Vehicle identification
- Property identification
4. Do Not Abuse Character Creation
Do not continuously create new characters for the sole purpose of avoiding consequences from an existing character.
5. Keep Records Consistent
Your:
- Character
- Vehicle
- Property
- License
- In-game roleplay
should remain reasonably consistent with one another.
6. Do Not Register Other People's Assets
Do not claim ownership of another member's vehicle or property without a legitimate roleplay reason and their permission.
7. Respect Restricted Information
Civilian access does not authorize you to access Law Enforcement, Fire/EMS, Communications, personnel, or administrative records.
π οΈ Troubleshooting
